The electoral commission returning officer in Dokolo district has declared Sarah Aguti Nyangkori the duly nominated candidate in the Dokolo District woman MP by-election on UPC ticket.
She becomes the second candidate to be nominated today after NRM’s Janet Rose Adongo Elau. 
Nyangkori was in the company of the party president Hon. Jimmy Akena and other top leaders within UPC.
Muzeyi Faizo, the UPC head of media and communications said they’re now headed to a cross district drive this afternoon as they await for official campaigns launch on Wednesday as per EC roadmap.
The Dokolo district Woman representative seat fell vacant following the death of the former MP, Cecilia Ogwal which occurred on 18 January, 2024. Ogwal died of a cancer related disease. The electoral commission set March 21, as the date for election of late Ogwal replacement.
