*URA 1-1 Mbarara City
Mbarara City held URA to a 1-1 draw in their third UPL match, played at Ham Stadium, Nakivubo.
This was URA’s first home game of the season, and they were expected to secure a win, but the Ankole Lions had other plans.
Moses Aliro canceled out Seiri Arigumaho’s goal to earn a point for the Tax collectors.
In the 59th minute, Arigumaho tapped in Latif Senkubuge’s follow-up after Derrick Ochan spilled the ball, giving Mbarara the lead.
Four minutes later, Aliro equalized with a well-placed shot from outside the box after an unintended set-up from Bruno Bunyaga.
The visitors will have goalkeeper Abdul Kimera to thank for securing a point. Kimera made crucial saves, denying Ivan Ahimbisibwe’s free header, stopping Joseph Ssemuju, and thwarting two close-range attempts from Aliro in the first half.
With four minutes remaining, Kimera again came to the rescue by pushing James Begisa’s effort out for a corner.
The result takes URA to four points, while Mbarara City moves to two.
URA will visit Mbale Heroes next Saturday, while Mbarara City will travel to face BUL on Wednesday, October 2.
