Mbarara City Set To Sign Arua Hill Defender

Uganda Premier League (UPL) side Mbarara City has expressed keen interest in signing 16-year old versatile defender Yusuf Masaba from Arua Hill.

The deal is imminent, as both parties are interested, and most personal terms have been agreed – papers will be signed soon to seal the deal.

The True Vine Soccer Academy graduate has also previously featured for the Kyetume Junior Team, and played for Gombe HS and Budo SS in secondary schools competitions.

The defender can play anywhere across the defense line, and can operate effectively in holding midfield as well.

At Mbarara City, Mafabi will reunite with coach Livingstone Mbabazi, with whom they worked together in Arua.

Mbabazi recently rejoined the Ankole Lions, and has now embarked on a plan to beef up his squad ahead of the new season.

Kataka’s pair of defender Hassan Wadenga and winger Latif Ssenkubuge also joined the Mbarara-based side in the ongoing transfer window.

The club also tied down two of their most influential players last season, midfielder Francis Odongo and striker Henry Kitegenyi to new contracts respectively.
