*BUL 0-2 Mbarara City
Mbarara City registered their first win of the season in an unexpected 2-0 triumph over BUL FC in a Uganda Premier League match at Lugazi Stadium in Najjembe.
Seiri Arigumaho was the star of the show, netting a brace to hand the Ankole Lions a much-needed victory.
His first goal came in the 39th minute, capitalizing on BUL’s defensive mishap, allowing him to turn in the box and fire past goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa.
Arigumaho added his second goal in the 60th minute, expertly finishing a well-delivered cross from Latif Ssenkubuge, who had outmaneuvered Najib Fesali on the flank.
This win marks Mbarara City’s first in four games, having suffered a loss to SC Villa in their season opener, followed by consecutive draws against Police and URA.
For BUL FC, under head coach Abbey Bogere Kikomeko, the defeat continues their winless run despite a strong finish in second place last season.
BUL has struggled this campaign with two losses, including one to SC Villa, and two draws against KCCA and Police, leaving them with just two points from four games.
Mbarara City will look to build on this momentum when they host Kitara while BUL will search for answers to turn around their poor start when they visit URA – All after the International break.
