MP Nkeretanyi Charged, Released On Bail

Kampala-A few days after Court has dismissed an election petition seeking vote recount, Kalungu East Member of Parliament Elect Yusuf Kiruuta Nkeretanyi has been charged by Buganda Road Chief Magistrates Court.

Nkeretanyi and 4 others have been arraigned before Chief Magistrate Ritah. Kisasa Neumbe who charged them with an offence of stealing curtains, Cushion and curtain holders worth 3.7 billion shillings from Hajji Sulaiman Kasule.

However, the accused pleaded not guilty of the charges, applied for bail and presented sureties, whom Court found to be substantial.

Prosecution contends that Kiruluta and others between 2018 and January 2022 at Eagle Plaza, Central Division, Kampala stole curtains, cushions, and curtain holders worth Shs 3.7 billion from Hajj Sulaiman Lwabuuka Kasule.
