Muslims have been urged to live God-conscious lives, strengthen family values, and remain united in supporting community development.
The admonition came from His Eminence, Dr. Sheikh Hafiz Muhammad Haruna Bukenya, the 2nd Deputy Mufti, who represented His Eminence Dr. Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda, at the send-off of the late Hajjat Amiina Bulage, mother of Sheikh Faisal Hassan Naminya, a prominent Busoga Sheikh and member of the UMSC Shuura Council on April 1st, 2026.
Addressing a large gathering of mourners, Sheikh Bukenya emphasized the importance of spirituality as preparation for the everlasting life after leaving this world. Turning to the bereaved family, he praised them for caring for their elderly mother, who passed away in her late 80s: “You have indeed demonstrated the compassion expected from a pious child toward their parents during their lifetime, as an appreciation for the sacrifices they endured to raise you as responsible citizens.”
He further encouraged parents to emulate the late Hajjat Bulage, who labored to educate her children: “So intensify all efforts in teaching your children, especially Islamic tenets, to enable them to grow morally upright.”
Sheikh Bukenya concluded by urging Muslim faithful to remain united and to support UMSC developmental programs. Earlier, several Sheikhs shared words of wisdom from the Holy Qur’an, including Dr. Sheikh Muhammad Hussein Bbowa, the Busoga Muslim Regional Assistant to the Mufti.
The burial was attended by high-profile personalities, including ; Prof.Dr Sheikh Ziyad Swaleh Lubanga, Director of Sharia, Sheikh Shaffie Edris Songolo, member of the UMSC Executive Committee, Kadhis from neighboring Muslim districts, and other leaders within the UMSC lower structures.
