Muwanga Kivumbi’s Family Hires Lukwago and Company Advocate

A few days after the outgoing Butambala Member of Parliament, Hon. Muwanga Kivumbi has been charged with Terrorism and remanded to Kitalya Prison.

His family led by Al Hajji Muda Lutaaya have agreed to hire Lukwago and Company Advocate to represent their relative in Court.

“The family of the late Ali Lutaaya of Bugoye, Butambala have appointed you as Legal Counsel to handle the affairs in the criminal matter of their son Honourable Muwanga Kivumbi Muhammad currently incarcerated in Kitalya Prison. You are therefore requested to pursue all means regarding this matter to its successful conclusion.” Reads part of the instructions

The prosecution led by Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions Rachael Bikhole alleges that between January 11 and January 17, 2026, Kivumbi, together with others still at large, coordinated and carried out a series of violent attacks in Kibibi Town Council and Gombe Town Council in Butambala District.
