The Uganda National Drug Authority (NDA) in collaboration with police has impounded 500 tins of Government-supplied Antiretroviral Drugs (ARVs) in Kasese municipality.
The NDA Public Relations Manager, Abiaz Rwamwiri says two suspects found in the illicit possession have also been arrested.
The suspects are Justine Ithungu, a health worker and resident of Kidodo cell in Kasese Municipality, and Paul Bwambale Makanika, a resident of the Railway ward in Kasese Municipality.
Ithungu was found with 50 tins while Makanika was found in possession of 450 tins in their respective homes.
He noted that the arrests followed an intelligence-led operation across the district. The suspects were later transferred to Kibuli in Kampala for interrogation.
