The National Enterprise Corporation (NEC) Football Club has suspended head coach Hussein Mbalangu over alleged professional and ethical misconduct.
In an official statement, the club confirmed the decision, stating:“Head Coach Mbalangu Hussein has been suspended due to professional and ethical misconduct, effective immediately.”
Mbalangu’s suspension reportedly stems from his involvement in the Masaza Cup, where he has been serving as part of the technical team for this year’s finalists, Ssingo.
The development comes shortly after NEC FC’s disappointing early exit from the CAF Confederation Cup, following their elimination by Kenya’s Nairobi United.
In Mbalangu’s absence, his assistant, James Odoch, has been appointed to take charge of the team on an interim basis as the club assesses the situation.
