On the 24th of June, 214 houses were demolished in Lubigi by the Uganda police force, following order of National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) executive director Dr Akankwasa Barirega.
The NEMA boss came out in a press conference and said that the occupants of Lubigi has settled there by unlawful means.
Today,NEMA has resumed eviction of more people from the wetland starting with florists.
