British Columbia conducted a new draw under its British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) – and issued invitations to at least 125 candidates.
The June 21st BC PNP draw was divided into categories: General and Targeted.
Here are the details of this new BC PNP draw:
- A General draw, which included tech occupations, saw 101 invitations being issued through five BC PNP streams for skilled workers and international graduates. The minimum score required was 85 points.
- A Targeted draw, which included Early Childhood Educators and Assistants under NOC 4214, saw 14 invitations being issued to skilled workers and international graduates. The minimum score required was 60 points.
- Another Targeted draw, which included Healthcare workers, saw 10 invitations being issued to skilled workers, international graduates, and entry-level & semi-skilled workers. The minimum score required was 60 points.
Launched back in 2017, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) is designed to target skilled workers that are currently in high demand in British Columbia.
The BC PNP currently manages two key streams: Express Entry and Skills Immigration.
Candidates seeking to apply for a provincial nomination under the BC PNP must first register an online account on the province’s official website.

The BC PNP draw is a point-based system where candidates are assigned a certain score based on human capital, skills transferability, and additional factors. Such points are evaluated and assigned using the BC PNP points calculator with factors including Age, Education, Work Experience, Language Proficiency, Adaptability, and Provincial Nomination, among others.
The higher a candidate’s score in the BC PNP points calculator – the more are their chances of earning a provincial nomination to apply for permanent residency from British Columbia.
Candidates who manage to obtain a BC nomination – will then have 30 days from the date of invitation to submit a complete PNP application on the BC’s online portal.
The provincial government and the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will now audit, and make a decision on the submitted application. This process can take anywhere between 2 and 3 months. If approved, candidates will then be eligible to apply for Canada PR under the BC PNP.
