Amanyire was declared winner by Masindi district returning officer Gastervus Kakaire at 2am on Wednesday morning getting total number of 10’062 votes 62.69%.
His follower of FDC Isaac Bongomin got 2583 votes 16.09%.
Other candidates include, Kyomuhendo Ronald the incumbent mayor independent with 2383 votes, 14.85%, Milly Mateeba independent 213 votes 1.32% , Asiina Nakalema 693 votes 4.32 and Peter Wobusobsozi independent 117 votes 0.73%.
Number of invalid votes were 354 , total votes 16404 and spoilt votes 24.
Speaking to www.mknewslink.com news website after declaration, Amanyire hailed his supporters for the trust and promised to deliver for them through lobbying from government.
He also promised to engage government to work on Masindi general hospital among other priority issues.
