It’s should be recalled that in the 10th parliament, Nsereko also contested on the same position with Jacob Oulanyah and scored 115 votes which were lesser than his competitor. Bukedea woman member of parliament also National Resistance Movement candidate has floored and humiliated Kampala Central MP Muhammad Nsereko (Independent) and Forum for Democratic Change (FDC)’ candidate and Mawokota south MP Yusuf Nsibambi to win the race for the deputy speaker of 11th parliament.

Among garnered 415 votes compared to the 24 votes garnered by Muhammad Nsereko and the 35 votes garnered by senior lawyer and law don Yusuf Nsimbambi.

It’s should be recalled that in the 10th parliament, Nsereko also contested on the same position with Jacob Oulanyah and scored 115 votes which were lesser than his competitor.

Anitah’s win means that she will be deputizing Omoro County MP Jacob Oulanyah who served on the same position in the 9th and 10th parliament.

Meanwhile, drama ensued as Mukono Municipality MP Betty Nambooze Bakilekea a National Unity Platform member proposed the nomination of the outgoing deputy 1st prime minister in the position of deputy speaker however, the nominee declined the offer.

In the same way Kawempe North Mp Muhammad Ssegirinya alias Mr. Update was also proposed to be nominated for the same position only to be saved by Butambala Mp Muhammad Muwanga Kivumbi who said through him he has declined the offer.
