Kampala– National Resistance Movement (NRM) Secretariat has invited all incoming members of the 12th Parliament to a leadership retreat aimed at strengthening governance and aligning priorities.
In a communication dated March 27, 2026, the NRM Secretary General, Richard Todwong, said the retreat will be held at the National Leadership Institute from April 7 to April 15, 2026. The retreat will run under the theme of aligning leadership to protect national gains and advance Uganda towards a higher middle-income status.
The Secretariat also extended the invitation to NRM-leaning independent Members of Parliament-elect, urging them to register by April 6, 2026, to participate in the program.
That those intending to participate in this exercise, will be transported from the Kololo Independence Grounds, where accreditation and mandatory COVID-19 testing will also take place ahead of the retreat.
The NRM Secretariat congratulated all Members of Parliament-elect upon their victories, expressing optimism for productive engagements during the leadership retreat.
This announcement has come at a time when over 30 independent Members of Parliament have expressed interest to work with NRM in the 12th Parliament.
