The National Resistance Movement (NRM) presidential candidate, General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has called on voters in Koboko District to support the party in the upcoming 2026 General Elections, citing the NRM’s long-standing record of stability, development, and national reconciliation.
Speaking at a presidential campaign rally held at Ombachi Playground in Koboko District, President Museveni emphasized the political unity, peace, and strong national defense the NRM government has fostered since coming to power. He noted that these efforts enabled many Ugandans from Koboko and the greater West Nile sub-region to return from exile — a consequence of turmoil under past regimes.
Candidate Museveni highlighted the NRM’s role in steering Uganda from the chaos of pre- and post-independence conflicts to a path of national progress. He attributed this turnaround to a combination of military strength and a commitment to reconciliation, which laid the groundwork for Uganda’s current peace and development.
The President affirmed that the NRM is the only “tested and credible political entity” capable of guiding Uganda forward, urging Koboko residents to entrust the party with another term in 2026.
As part of his campaign promises, Museveni announced plans to establish an industrial park in Koboko District — part of a broader national industrialization strategy. He also pledged to ensure equitable distribution of both primary and secondary schools at parish and sub-county levels during his next term.
On infrastructure, the NRM flagbearer confirmed that key road projects are on track, including the major Koboko–Yumbe–Moyo road, which is set for completion by 2027. He listed several other infrastructure developments aimed at enhancing regional connectivity and economic activity.
In a show of support, the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Maama Janet Kataha Museveni, commended Koboko voters for their consistent support of the NRM. She urged them to deliver an overwhelming 90% vote for the party in the 2026 elections.
