NUP Flag Bearer in Kabarole Steps Down

Kabarole– Kobugabe Lilian, the flag bearer for National Unity Platform (NUP) on position of Kabarole Woman Member of Parliament has stepped down from contesting in the 2026 General Elections.

“Dear Mr. Secretary General, I hereby tender my formal withdrawal from the Woman Member of Parliament contest for Kabarole District under the National Unity Platform ticket In the forthcoming 2026 General Elections. This decision, though difficult, has been reached after careful consideration.” Reads part of Kobugabe’s letter to NUP Secretary General Lewis Rubongoya.

She also added that, this difficult decision has been reached after careful consideration. “It is my humble request that the party utilize the remaining seven days before nomination to identify and support another candidate who can effectively represent our movement’s aspirations in the 2026 General Elections.”

She further extended her heartfelt gratitude to the party leadership and membership for the confidence and opportunity they have granted her as she promised to continue being loyal to the Party.
