The National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu ‘Bobi Wine’, has condemned the police for allegedly protecting individuals wearing NRM T-shirts who attacked NUP supporters in Sanga Town Council.
While addressing journalists in Mbarara City ahead of his campaign rally in Isingiro District, Kyagulanyi recounted the incident, saying that during their journey from Lyantonde to Kiruhura, they were ambushed in Sanga by a group of people donning NRM T-shirts, reportedly led by the Sanga Town Council mayor. He said the attackers, armed with stones and sticks, assaulted NUP supporters as police stood by without intervening.

Kyagulanyi added that although they managed to escape the attack, it was unfortunate that the perpetrators were being shielded by the police.
www.mknewslink.com learnt that even in other parts like Bunyoro region especially Masindi district and Kiryandongo, some NRM supporters paid money to some individuals and boda-boda riders who put on NRM yellow t-shirts and moved towards NUP supporters as security watched on but they were over powered by big number of NUP supporters.
