Nominations for members of parliament in Bushenyi district have today ended in style with the coming up of new challengers for the already competitive races.
Kemigisha Vianah ‘Nyamunyonyi’, Nicholas Ndyakira ‘Kinawoluvu’, Caroline Namara and Eng. Cuthbert are among the big names that closed the nominations for members of parliament in Bushenyi.
Nyamunyonyi who bounced back as independent after losing the flag to incumbent Annet Katusiime Mugisha for Woman Member of parliament seat told journalists that it’s her time to liberate Bushenyi by building a legacy for future generations.
Caroline Namara, a renowned human rights activist and a media personality also geared up the competition by contesting with her former boss for district’s woman representative.
Eng. Cuthbert Tukundane Kasiano who had contested with tycoon Hassan Basajjabalaba for the district’s NRM party chairperson have been nominated as independent candidate for Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality. His candidature sets up a new challenge for Iddi Basajja.
Also for Bushenyi Ishaka municipality, Counsel Nicholas Ndyakira ‘kinawoluvu’ bounced as independent after losing in the NRM flag race.
Others who were nominated today include; FDC’s Eng. Edwin Nuwamanya, UPC’s Rukira all for Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality, Horace Muhabuzi for Igara west among others.
