Speaking at a presidential campaign rally for the NRM National Chairperson and flag bearer in Alebtong district on Thursday October 02, 2025, Obua recalled the difficult years when communities lived in fear of groups like Ojuko and Lakwena, leaving families displaced and in economic despair.

“The coming of the NRA marked a turning point. It was the restoration of peace that saved our Alebtong district from destruction and gave us a chance to rebuild,” he reminded the people of Alebtong.

Obua also noted that the NRM is the first political party to introduce wealth creation programs to empower homesteads by families with the required resources to prosper.

“This is our story, a journey from pain to peace, from struggle to stability, and from uncertainty to development, made possible by leadership, sacrifice, and the vision of the NRM,” said Obua.

In his remarks, President Museveni reaffirmed his commitment to the NRM manifesto, stressing the importance of protecting the gains achieved over the years as the party focuses on maintaining peace, advancing development, and promoting wealth creation to uplift communities.

The President also acknowledged the challenge of poor road infrastructure and assured the people of Lango that the government will prioritize the rehabilitation and construction of key roads in the sub-region.
