Vipers SC secured a commanding 4-0 victory over Wakiso Giants in a Startimes Uganda Premier League match at St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.
Goals from Asiwome Fumador, Allan Okello, Milton Karisa, and Muhammad Ekbad ensured Vipers completed a league double over Wakiso Giants. Vipers had previously won 3-0 in the first leg at the same venue.
Despite being the visitors, Vipers dominated from the start, with early signs pointing to their victory.
Yunus Ssentamu missed an early chance to put Vipers ahead before Asiwome Fumador capitalized on Allan Okello’s corner to give Vipers the lead after 15 minutes.
Despite a spirited effort from Wakiso Giants, Vipers continued to dominate, with Faizal Tumwine assisting Allan Okello for his first goal of the campaign.
Milton Karisa extended Vipers’ lead with a goal off a Faizal Tumwine cross just before the hour mark.
Muhammad Ekbad sealed the victory with a header from Milton Karisa’s well-delivered cross in the dying minutes of the game.
After 18 league games, Vipers SC climbed to 3rd on the table with 35 points, while Wakiso Giants remained 12th with 20 points after 20 league games.
In their upcoming fixtures, Wakiso Giants will visit Express FC on Wednesday, March 13th, at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku, while Vipers SC will host arch-rivals KCCA FC at St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende on Friday, March 15th.
