Foreign students and workers encouraged to move ahead with their Canada PR applications
On September 21, Ontario issued a second batch of invitations, requesting 995 people to apply for a provincial nomination. Candidates with profiles in the Expression of Interest (EOI) pool were invited by the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). Candidates may have qualified for one of two types of Employer Job Offers.
A total of 406 people were asked to apply for the Foreign Worker Stream. A score of at least 37 was required for these candidates. Since this was a general draw, there were no specific vocations or location restrictions. Another 523 people were asked to apply for a nomination through the International Student Stream in a general draw. To be invited, these individuals needed an EOI score of at least 61.
In addition, the OINP sent 66 invitations to immigration applicants who had registered for the Regional Immigration Pilot program and may be eligible for the same two Employer job offer streams. 36 of these invites were given to foreign employees, while 30 were given to international students.

Employer Information Job Offer: International Student Stream
Foreign candidates with an acceptable employment offer from a company in Ontario are eligible for the Ontario International Student Stream under the employer job offer category. You do not have to apply from within Canada if you fulfil the qualifying conditions. You must have finished a program at a Canadian Designated Learning Institution, have an acceptable employment offer in Ontario, and want to come to the province, among other requirements, to be eligible.
To be invited to apply for this program, you must first create an EOI profile on the Ontario website. Your profile will then be added to the EOI pool, and you will be assigned a score depending on the data you provide. Ontario gives points for human capital elements established by the government to reflect your capacity to integrate into the labour market.
How do you obtain immigration points in Ontario?
Ontario selects EOI profiles based on a variety of human capital criteria determined by the province to be essential in selecting immigrants with the capacity to succeed. The skill level of your job offer and your Canadian work experience is used to assign you points. The province utilizes the National Occupational Classification (NOC) system to assign points.
The OINP scoring system is determined by the applicant’s chosen stream. The OINP scoring method considers your income, education, official language proficiency, and the place or region in which you study or work, in addition to your skill level and working experience. In addition, the province may employ up to ten points at its discretion to respond to labour market demands.
