The Pan-African Pyramid (PAP) has announced plans to posthumously honour the late Ugandan businessman and philanthropist Rajiv Ruparelia with a prestigious Humanitarian Award during the 9th Pan-African Pyramid Global Awards 2026 and 12th Anniversary Dinner scheduled for August 29, 2026, at Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala.
In an official statement released Monday night by the Office of the Speaker, the Pan-African Pyramid Awards Committee revealed that the decision was reached unanimously in recognition of Rajiv Ruparelia’s exceptional humanitarian contribution across Africa and beyond.
According to the organizers, the late Rajiv left an enduring legacy through his extensive support towards education, health, sports development, youth empowerment, charity initiatives and community transformation programs that touched countless lives.
“Rajiv impacted countless lives and inspired a generation of young African entrepreneurs and philanthropists,” the statement noted.
The continental body further confirmed that Ruparelia Group Chairman Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, alongside his wife Jyotsna Ruparelia and other members of the Ruparelia family, will attend the prestigious gathering to officially receive the award on behalf of the late Rajiv Ruparelia.
The upcoming event is expected to attract a high-profile audience comprising African leaders, diplomats, business executives, cultural icons, media personalities and Pan-African stakeholders from across the continent and the diaspora.
Among the notable guests expected at the event is renowned Zimbabwean Pan-Africanist Bishop Joshua Maponga Marara III.
Organizers also disclosed plans to explore a future humanitarian partnership with the Ruparelia Foundation under the annual “X-Mas With Refugees” initiative, an outreach program organized every December 20 in partnership with the Office of the Prime Minister’s Department of Refugees.
The initiative has been supporting vulnerable refugee communities across Uganda through relief aid, humanitarian solidarity and hope-sharing activities.
According to the committee, integrating the initiative into the broader humanitarian vision associated with Rajiv Ruparelia’s legacy would significantly expand support to displaced and vulnerable communities across Africa.
The Pan-African Pyramid described itself as one of Africa’s emerging platforms dedicated to celebrating visionary African leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators and humanitarians championing continental unity, transformation and social impact.
The awards dinner at Speke Resort Munyonyo is expected to serve as both a celebration of Rajiv Ruparelia’s enduring humanitarian legacy and a renewed call for African-driven philanthropy and unity.
