Prince Edward Island has released details of its draw scheduled for February 18.
PEI PNP invites 121 immigrants in the latest provincial draw. Most of the invitations, 102, went to the Express Entry and Labor Impact applicants. Business Impact candidates won the remaining 19, provided they have a minimum threshold of 82 points.
Through PNPS, Canadian provinces and territories can nominate skilled candidates who can meet the demands of their labor market. They sometimes align with Canada’s express entry system.

Basics on PEI PNP’s different immigration streams
Express Entry category
PEI PNP’s Express entry category is an enhanced immigration stream that is in-line with the federal government Express entry program.
600 CRS points are awarded to Express Entry candidates who get a provincial nomination for PEI PNP. These many points effectively guarantee an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in a subsequent Express Entry draw.
For express entry candidates to be considered for PEI PNP, they must submit their EOI profile.
All the EOI profiles are then evaluated based on the PEI PNP’s points assessment grid. The highest awarded EOI profiles are then invited to apply through monthly draws.
No details of invitation breakdown were provided by Prince Edward Island PNP as well as no details for the minimum EOI score required for each category.
Labour Impact & Business Impact Category
The Labour impact category is for immigrants who have a valid job offer from an eligible employer of the province also must have support from the same employer. It is divided into three components: skilled worker, critical worker, and international graduate.
Applicants in this category must also submit an EOI profile to be considered for a provincial nomination in the Impact on Work category.
The 19 applicants who were invited to the Business Impact category required a minimum EOI score of 82. These invitations were issued under the Work Permit stream, which is aimed at foreign entrepreneurs who wish to own and carry on a business in Prince Edward Island.
