President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Tuesday officially took oath as President of Uganda for the seventh term during a colourful state ceremony held at Kololo Independence Grounds, attended by thousands of jubilant supporters, dignitaries, foreign delegates, security officials, and NRM mobilisers from across the country.
The ceremony, presided over by Chief Justice Dr. Flavian Zeija, was marked by powerful national symbolism, military precision, and emotional scenes as Museveni swore the oath of allegiance and oath of presidency amid loud cheers and ululations from the mammoth crowd that filled Kololo. Moments later, the President received the instruments of power, including the Constitution, the national flag, the presidential standard, the public seal, and other state symbols signifying the official commencement of his new five-year mandate.
The pictorial highlights the grandeur of the day, from the spectacular military parade and the 21-gun salute to the waving national flags, smiling supporters, and high-profile guests who witnessed Uganda usher in another political chapter under Museveni’s leadership.
