The Territorial Police in Pallisa District are investigating a disturbing case of aggravated defilement and rape involving a 13-year-old girl, identified as Elizabeth, a pupil at Kameke Primary School from Komolo village.

The incident reportedly occurred on September 27, 2025, around 8:00 PM, when Elizabeth and a friend were returning home. They were allegedly ambushed by a group of boys, one of whom, identified as Ogunya, is accused of grabbing Elizabeth while her friend managed to escape.

Witnesses allege that Ogunya, along with four other boys, forcibly assaulted Elizabeth, causing severe injuries. A local boda boda rider, Okawaja, came to her aid and transported her home, where it was discovered she was bleeding profusely.

Elizabeth was first taken to Kameke Health Center III and then referred to Pallisa Central Hospital due to the severity of her condition.

This case follows two similar incidents in the same district. On August 28, 2025, another girl was reportedly assaulted, and again on September 5, 2025, a case of aggravated defilement was reported. These events have raised concerns in the community about the safety of children.

ASP Kyempasa Wilfred, the police spokesperson for Bukedi North, confirmed that the latest incident was formally reported to the police on September 28, 2025, under case number SD 09/28/2025 CRB 429/2025.

“The police have registered the case as aggravated defilement and rape and are conducting a comprehensive investigation,” added ASP Kyempasa

Authorities are urging community members to report any information regarding the suspects, who are currently at large, assuring the public that the investigation is active and justice will be pursued rigorously.

The community has expressed outrage over these incidents, calling for increased safety measures to protect children. Local leaders are being urged to take action to ensure the safety of residents, particularly children, in the area
