The wife to the assistant Presidential Press Secretary Faruk Kirunda has perished in a car crush. The deceased is identified as Gladys Aliyinza who has been aspiring for Luuka Woman Member of Parliament.
Aliyinza is reported to have been killed in an accident that occurred in Luuka district, when her vehicle got involved in a head-on collision with a sugarcane truck.
The Isuzu double cabin pickup overturned several times, killing Ms Aliyinza and her political assistant Yusuf Biita on the spot.
Aliyinza’s driver – whose identity has not yet been established, has been taken to Musana Health Centre in Kaliro Town for medical attention while in a very critical condition.
There was no detail at the statuses of the occupants of the Tata truck registration UAU 073G that which involved in the fatal collision.
The truck, that was loaded with sugarcane, also overturned. Kirunda has just returned from Mecca for Holy Pilgrimage.
