*SC Villa 2-1 BUL
*Lugazi 0-0 Vipers
SC Villa returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over BUL FC in a Uganda Premier League clash at Wankulukuku.
Goals from Ronald Ssekiganda and Hakim Kiwanuka were enough to secure the points, while Dickson Matama netted a consolation for the visitors.
Villa, coming off a 1-0 defeat to Mbale Heroes, looked eager to respond. Ssekiganda opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a powerful header off Kiwanuka’s perfectly placed cross, calming the home side’s nerves.
The hosts extended their lead just two minutes into the second half when Kiwanuka found the back of the net with a brilliant volley, beating BUL’s goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa.
BUL clawed their way back into the game in the 64th minute, with Matama capitalizing on a defensive lapse to score from close range after Villa failed to clear a dangerous free-kick.
SC Villa now sit on six points from two wins, maintaining a 100% home record after their earlier victory over Mbarara City.
In contrast, BUL remain winless after three games, having drawn with Police and KCCA in previous matches.
Next up, SC Villa face a tough away fixture against Vipers in Kitende on October 5, while BUL will host Mbarara City in Lugazi on October 2.
