Simba Cement says committed to lowering cement prices

Simba Cement, a leading market player has said it will leverage the recently launched clinker plant in West Pokot, Kenya, to reduce production costs  and consequently lower cement prices in Uganda.

Edna Agwata, Sales Manager at Simba Cement, emphasized the company’s commitment to maintaining competitive pricing amidst rising operational costs.

“Our proximity to raw material sources plays a crucial role in our pricing strategy. The newly commissioned clinker plant, which is very near to our Tororo plant, ensures logistical efficiency, reduced transport costs, and an overall lower carbon footprint. This efficiency allows us to continue offering affordable cement without compromising quality,” Agwata said.

Officials said beyond price and performance, the company remains dedicated to sustainability and safety.

Heet Raval, Simba Cement’s Marketing Manager emphasized this.

“Our focus has always been to offer high-quality cement at affordable prices without compromising quality. We believe that by supporting President Yoweri Museveni’s vision of affordable housing, we contribute significantly to Uganda’s socio-economic growth. We are committed as Simba cement to the government of Uganda and all Ugandan citizen to always provide cement at minimum affordable price to achieve their dreams to build their own houses. The new clinker plant gives us a unique logistical advantage, allowing us to pass on cost savings to our customers while ensuring top-grade cement is readily available.”

Looking ahead, officials said Simba Cement’s research and development team is focused on continuous product innovation.

“We have recently introduced Simba Cement CEM II, a product specifically developed to meet the growing demand for high strength cement in civil works and infrastructure projects,” noted Agwata.

“As Uganda’s construction industry evolves, Simba Cement is well-positioned to provide advanced solutions that align with market needs.”
