Spice Diana signs Mega deal with Chinese beverage company


Britania Allied Industries, the makers of some of Uganda’s leading food and beverage brands, has officially launched Splash Kacupa, a new PET bottle variant of the popular Splash fruit drink also available in tetra pack packaging.

At the launch event, media personality Daniel Katende, popularly known as ‘Kasuku’, was unveiled as the official campaign ambassador for Splash Kacupa.

The launch marks a significant push to grow the Splash Kachupa brand nationally, supported by a major production investment, a new 250ml pack size, and the announcement of popular Ugandan content creator Kasuku as the product’s official brand ambassador.

Splash, Britania’s flagship fruit drink, has been on Ugandan shelves for over 25 years and is a packaged fruit juice in the country. Splash Kachupa is a PET-packaged variant of the Splash drink, containing 13% fruit content and available in a 400ml bottle at UGX 2,000 and a 250ml bottle at UGX 1,200.

The product is currently available in six flavors: Mango, Apple, Tamarind, Orange, Berries, and Grapes & Berries, targeting children, teenagers, and young adults looking for an affordable, portable, and resealable fruit drink alternative to carbonated soft drinks.

The launch is grounded in a clear market insight: Ugandan consumers are increasingly favoring PET packaged beverages over traditional carton formats, drawn by portability, convenience, and the ability to reseal and consume on the go. Britania has made a significant investment in upgrading the Splash Kachupa production plant to meet growing demand and ensure consistent product quality.

Speaking during the launch, Victor Atwijuka, the GM Sales & Marketing said the vision of launch is to extend trust of old generations into new ones.

“Splash Kachupa is a PET fruit drink variant of Splash, more affordable, portable, resealable, and carrying the trusted taste of Splash that Ugandans already know. We want it to be the first thing a consumer reaches for when they want something refreshing, familiar, and good.”

He further added that Splash Kachupa is a response to where the market is moving.

“Consumer habits in Uganda are shifting. Trends clearly show that PET packaged beverages are growing in preference, while traditional carton formats, though still very relevant, are being supplemented by bottles that are portable, resealable, and convenient.”

Ali Yousef Ebraik, CEO of Britania Allied Industries while unveiling the ambassador reiterated this and reflected on the company’s 30-year history in Uganda and framed the Splash Kachupa relaunch as a deliberate, long-term investment in both the brand and the category.

“Splash Kachupa is an investment in the future of the Splash brand and in Britania’s growth as a company. We have taken care to ensure that Splash Kachupa strengthens the Splash brand family without diluting what makes Splash Original so loved. One builds on the other. The Splash family grows together.”

In a much-anticipated announcement, Britania confirmed Ugandan content creator and media personality Kasuku as the official ambassador for Splash Kachupa.

“Kasuku represents the spirit we want this brand to carry: connected, relatable, and deeply Ugandan. Brands grow in communities, in conversations, in culture. Kasuku helps us bring Splash Kachupa into that space in an authentic way.” Ebraik commented.

The national campaign, anchored by the tagline Flavor Mu Kachupa, is designed to drive presence across supermarkets, wholesale shops, dukas, kiosks, trading centres, activations, and community events nationwide. Britania’s sales and distribution teams have been preparing across multiple regions of Uganda ahead of the official rollout.
