On Wednesday, officials from Stanbic Bank visited the headquarters of the National Entrepreneurs and Traders Association (NETA) at Yiga Chambers in Kampala, marking a significant step in the bank’s ongoing efforts to support entrepreneurship and trade in Uganda.

This strategic visit underscores Stanbic Bank’s continued commitment to driving economic growth and empowering local businesses. Through initiatives like the Stanbic Business Incubator and its comprehensive financial literacy programs, the bank has been a key player in nurturing Uganda’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The meeting focused on identifying practical ways to support NETA’s extensive network of entrepreneurs and traders, many of whom face challenges navigating the current tough economic climate. Discussions centered on access to affordable financing and upskilling traders in financial literacy to build sustainable businesses.

Dr. Thadeus Musoke Nagenda, Chairman of NETA, hailed the visit as timely and impactful. “A lot has been discussed, especially on how to help the business community financially, but also empower them with financial literacy,” he said. “In this hard economy that we are in, our fruitful discussions with Stanbic Bank are timely since they have yielded a lot on how the bank will bail out traders and entrepreneurs in the country.”

Dr. Musoke further emphasized NETA’s readiness to work closely with Stanbic Bank and other stakeholders to ensure that Ugandan entrepreneurs receive the support they need to thrive.

The collaboration between Stanbic Bank and NETA signals a promising future for grassroots businesses, with a shared vision of building financial resilience and long-term growth across the country.
