The chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has warned members of the organisation against participating in protests against corruption.
“None of our young people, those who believe and support PLU are allowed to participate in any demonstrations. We know how to fight corruption and we shall do it effectively,” Gen Muhoozi said in a post on X on Saturday.
Last month, young people took to the streets to protest against corruption in the country especially at the Parliament.
They demanded the resignation of Speaker Anita Among and the four back bench commissioners as well as slashing of salaries and allowances for MPs.
In a tweet on Saturday, Gen Muhoozi said there are other ways of fighting corruption.
President Museveni said the people behind the protests are funded by foreigners.
