KAMPALA– Singer Stecia Mayanja has resigned from the position of Party President for National Peasants Party (NPP) following threats by top party administration.
Stecia who has spent close to two months in this position has been facing resistance from the Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) acusing her of entering into negotiations with rival Political Parties without their consent.
“I saw a letter from NPP Secretary General undermining me as the Party President. They accused me of performing on an event of Boda Boda riders who makes the largest percentage of peasants in our country.”
She added that whoever accuses her , is an enemy of the party because he lacks knowledge about the fundamental principles of the party.
“I have decided myself to quit the leadership of National Peasants Party , without any one forcing me because I am the above in that party. Next week, I will be unveiling my next move to all my fans, so I would like to advise them never to go back to Kasubi Munaku again.”
The National Executive Committee for NPP is still tight lipped about the resignation of their President.
