One of the key figures at this event is Ms. Mercy Itohan Osayi, President and Founder of Women of Dignity International (WODI). A communication expert and career personality, Mercy is devoted to developing women and building better families. Her mission perfectly aligns with the summit’s goals of empowering communities and fostering cultural pride.
Among the distinguished speakers is Professor George J. Sefa Dei, a renowned educator and academic researcher. Considered one of Canada’s foremost scholars on race, anti-racism studies, Black and minority education, African Indigeneity, and anti-colonial thought, Professor Dei will address the crucial topic of achieving equity in education and healthcare among Black African Canadian communities. His insights are expected to inspire actionable strategies and deepen understanding of the systemic challenges these communities face.
Ms. Ijeoma Scholastica Ugochukwu, the Executive Director and Director of Events and Projects at the Scarborough Centre in Ontario, will also be speaking at the event. Known for her pioneering work in community empowerment among people of African descent in Canada, Ijeoma’s contributions have been instrumental in driving positive change and uplifting marginalized voices.
