Alberta has already extended an invitation to 2,761 immigrants to apply for a provincial nomination in 2021.

The results of Alberta’s immigration draw on July 27 have been published. In total, 148 Express Entry Candidates with CRS scores of 300 or more, were invited under the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP). These candidates are now allowed to file for a provincial nomination under the Alberta Express Entry stream.

Even though the required CRS score was reduced to 300, very few candidates were invited in this draw than in the previous Alberta Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw.

After starting invitation rounds in January 2021, Alberta has invited 2,761 Express Entry candidates to seek a provincial nomination. It came to an end in the latter months of 2020. Alberta has now the available allocated quota of awarding 6,250 nomination certificates in 2021.

What is the Alberta Express Entry Stream and how it works?

The Alberta Express Entry Stream enables the province to search the federal government’s Express Entry candidate pool for profiles of individuals who may be eligible for a provincial nomination. The three federal high skilled programs, namely the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) are supervised by the Express Entry Program.

If you qualify for the Express Entry program, you will be assigned a score based on the CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System). CRS scores are determined by a variety of variables, including your age, education, job experience, English or French language abilities, and so on.

IRCC holds Express Entry draws every month, encouraging top-scoring applicants to apply for permanent residency. Although it is possible to immigrate without a provincial nomination through the Express Entry system, those with lower CRS scores may prefer to apply for a PNP. Provincial nominees automatically earn a 600-point increase to their overall score.

Eligibility for the Alberta Express Entry Stream

To be eligible for a provincial nomination through the Alberta Express Entry Stream, you must have work experience in a related occupation. The AINP does not identify jobs that are eligible for the stream; rather, it lists those that are not. Food-service managers, transport truck drivers, and cooks are just a few of the employment options accessible to individuals who apply through this channel.

Your Express Entry profile should demonstrate your willingness to migrate to Alberta. Work experience or a job offer in Alberta along with a Canadian education may increase your chances of being nominated. If your parent, child or sibling is a permanent resident or citizen of Alberta, it will help positively for your application. This PNP’s mission is to promote the province’s economic diversification and development objectives.
