Three Arrested for Murdering Man in Kikuube

Three suspects are in custody at the Kikuube Central Police Station in connection with the murder of Shadrack Kwesiga, a 30-year-old resident of Kigarama Cell, Kyentale Ward in Hoima East Division. The suspects include Zakayo Wamani, a 55-year-old businessman from Kinogozi Trading Center; John Odongo, a 23-year-old from Mpigiza Village in Kinogozi Parish, Buhimba Sub-County; and Alex Muhanuzi, a 25-year-old from Kyentale Ward in Hoima East Division.   

The incident occurred around 4 a.m. on Monday in Kinogozi Trading Center, Buhimba Sub-County, Kikuube District. According to available information, Kwesiga was playing cards with the suspects when a misunderstanding ensued for reasons that remain unclear. The suspects allegedly attacked Kwesiga, beating him to death before dumping his body by the roadside.   

The police were notified promptly and began their investigation. Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson, confirmed the arrests and stated that the suspects were immediately taken to Kikuube Police Station, where they are currently held on murder charges. The deceased’s body was transported to the Kikuube Health Center IV mortuary for a postmortem examination.   

Hakiza elaborated on the police’s swift response and the ongoing investigation into the matter:  

The investigation aims to uncover the motive behind the murder and gather all necessary evidence to ensure justice is served.
