0

Travellers must have completed the entire course of vaccination with an authorized vaccine 14 days prior to entering Canada

As of September 7, 2021, Canada’s borders will be open to fully immunized travellers. Travellers who want to enter Canada must have been immunized and vaccinated with Canadian-approved vaccines.

This means that travellers must have taken two doses of either the Pfizer, Moderna, or AstraZeneca vaccines, or one dose of the Janssen vaccination. Furthermore, travellers must have gotten their most recent dose at least 14 days before their trip to Canada.

Entry of fully vaccinated American citizens and permanent residents began on 9th August, 2021. As a result of this first step, the Canadian government was able to prepare for the full opening of their border to vaccinated individuals.

Points to keep in mind before visiting to Canada

Travellers arriving in Canada must use the ArriveCAN mobile or web application to provide their personal and travel information. Even if they are completely vaccinated, they will be required to demonstrate a pre-arrival COVID-19 molecular test result. Travellers may also be randomly selected to undergo a COVID-19 test upon arrival in Canada. They will also need to produce confirmation of vaccination and be free of any virus symptoms.

Furthermore, if certain conditions are met, visitors travelling to Canada will be free from quarantine. They will, however, be required to prepare a quarantine plan if the border officer determines that they do not meet these conditions.

Individuals under the age of 12 who are unvaccinated will be allowed to enter Canada without being quarantined if their parent or guardian is properly vaccinated and accompanying them.

Foreign nationals who have not been immunized are not permitted to enter Canada. Temporary workers, international students, diplomats, and those visiting for a vital reason are among those permitted to enter Canada. If they are not fully vaccinated, these people must be quarantined for 14 days upon arrival.

It is also worth noting that international flights are only permitted to land at the nine Canadian airports listed below:

1. Toronto Pearson International Airport

2. Montreal-Trudeau International Airport

3. Vancouver International Airport

4. Algary International Airport

5. Halifax Stanfield International Airport

6. Quebec City Jean Lesage International Airport

7. Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport

8. Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport

9. Edmonton International Airport

Furthermore, flights from India will be prohibited until at least September 21, while flights from Morocco will be prohibited until at least September 29.

Those travelling from India or Morocco will be required to stop in a third country and obtain a negative COVID-19 test before continuing on to Canada. The COVID-19 test must be completed within 72 hours of the final flight to Canada departing.
