Travis Mutyaba Unveiled By Girondins de Bordeaux

Uganda Cranes Midfielder Travis Mutyaba has officially joined French side side FC Girondins de Bordeaux.

The former SC Villa winger previously featured for Egyptian side Zamalek SC.

Mutyaba began his career at Vipers Junior team before moving to SC Villa in 2021 before moving to Egypt where he made 11 appearances in all competitions, including nine in the Egyptian Premier League.

During his time at Zamalek, Mutyaba lifted the CAF Confederation Cup, Africa’s equivalent of the UEFA Europa League.

Mutyaba is widely regarded as one of Uganda’s brightest football prospects. He earned his first international cap at just 16 and has since made 15 appearances for the national team, scoring one goal against Tanzania.

Most recently, he played a key role in Uganda’s September matches, featuring in a 2-2 draw against South Africa and a 2-0 win over Congo, where he played as a central attacking midfielder.

Known for his versatility, Mutyaba can operate both in central positions and on the wings, particularly on the right.

His ability to cut inside and create chances, combined with his powerful shot, makes him a valuable addition to Bordeaux’s attack.

The move to Bordeaux has been met with mixed emotions given the six-time French Ligue 1 Champions has since downgraded to fourth tier due to Financial hardships.
