UEDCL Speaks out on Three days Power Outage In Bugisu Districts

Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited has explained the circumstances surrounding the massive power outage being experienced in most districts in Bugisu subregion today, Wednesday, October 29, 2025.

A brief statement issued by Jonan Kiiza, the UEDCL Head of Corporate and Stakeholders Affairs says Mbale City, Nakaloke, Budadiri, Bududa, Buwalsi, Mpoogo, Sironko Town Council, Buyombo, Manafwa and surrounding areas are the affected areas.

He attributes the power outage to a technical fault at Mbale Sub Station. “Please bear with us as our technical team works to restore power by 6:00PM,” reads the statement in part.

These areas have had power outage since the night of Tuesday, 28th October leaving residents complaining about the inconsistency of UECDL that took over from Umeme recently.
