FT’ Pajule Lions 1-0 Pakwach Young Stars
BUL defeated KCCA 6-5 in post match spot kicks to progress to the semi-final of the 50th edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
The game had ended in a one-all draw after full-time and extra time at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.
Alex Kitata opened the scoring for the home side to break the deadlock within the first ten minutes of the game.
KCCA responded five minutes later, with Etienne Katenga scoring in the 14th minute to draw the game level.
The full 90 minutes ended in one-all draw, and the two teams headed for extra time.
There was no goal scored in the extra 30 minutes, and after 120 minutes of football at Njeru, the two sides went for post match penalties to decide the winner of the tie.
In the spot kicks, Ibrahim Kazindula, Ibrahim Mugulusi, Joel Mutakubwa, Ronald Otti, Walter Ochora and Pascal Ngobi scored for BUL, while Joram Kiirya missed his.
For KCCA, Musitafa Mujuzi, Musitafa Kizza, Joel Sserunjogi, Filbert Obenchan, Emmanuel Loki scored, while Herbert Achai and Peter Magambo missed theirs.
BUL now join Pajule Lions who beat fellow regional league side Pakwach Young Stars 1-0 and NEC that beat Police 2-0 to reach the semi finals.
The last one semi-finalist will be confirmed in the last quarter final fixture on Sunday, April 14 when holders Vipers will make a long trip to Masindi to play Kitara.
