•BUL Vs Express – Njeru
•Kitara Vs SC Villa – Masindi
In anticipation of their daunting Uganda Cup round of 16 match against Kitara on Sunday, SC Villa has welcomed back four key players from the Uganda Hippos squad.
Cyrus Kibande, Hakim Mutebi, Abasi Kyeyune, and Patrick Jonah Kakande have rejoined the Jogoos as they prepare to face Kitara in what promises to be an epic clash.
The quartet had been away with the Uganda Hippos (National U20 Team) in Ethiopia for the Dire Cup, and their recent league fixtures against BUL and Vipers were subsequently postponed.
Kakande, notably, made an impact in SC Villa’s previous encounter with Kitara, scoring the equalizer that helped salvage a point for the team.
However, in the first round clash, Kitara emerged victorious with a 2-1 win at Wankulukuku, thanks to an own goal from Elvis Ngonde in the dying moments of the game.
Kitara currently sit at the top of the Uganda Premier League table with 39 points, nine points ahead of Villa, who are in fifth place with two games in hand.
As they prepare for the crucial Uganda Cup fixture, Kitara will see the return of Jasper Aheebwa, who missed their previous league clash against Wakiso Giants due to suspension. However, Benjamin Nyakoojo continues to recover from a significant injury, leaving a gap in the team’s lineup.
With both teams eager to advance to the Uganda Cup quarterfinals, Sunday’s match is set to be a fiercely contested affair.
