Uganda Prisons Put 10 Million Bounty on Disappeared Warder Anguyo

Kampala- A few weeks after shooting his bosses and disappeared, Uganda Prisons together with sister security Agencies have intensified the search for Warder Anguyo Moses.

“The Commissioner General, Uganda Prisons Service has put a bounty of UGX 10,000,000 as

a reward to anyone who provides reliable information leading to the arrest of murderer No. 13544 Warder Anguyo Moses, the prime suspect in the recent fatal shooting incident at Uganda Government Prison – Kiboga that left four people dead.” Reads part of Press statement signed by Baine Frank Mayanja, Prisons Spokes person dated 9th March 2026

Baine has further assured the public that all information provided will be treated with strict confidentiality.

On 23rd February 2026, it is alleged that Moses Anguyo, reportedly opened fire at around 10 am, killing Assistant superintendent of prisons Hope Catherine, who was the deputy officer in charge; principal officer Bright Akishuri, described as third in command; and Sarah Ayebare, the spouse of the officer in charge.

That he later abandoned the gun and disappeared to unknown location.
