Kampala– The Uganda Red Cross Society has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with dfcu Group aimed at strengthening humanitarian action and enhancing community resilience across Uganda.
The partnership will support several key initiatives, including blood donor recruitment and mobilization, the Keep A Girl in School campaign, youth and women employment initiatives, as well as disaster preparedness and response efforts.
By bringing together humanitarian expertise and corporate leadership, the collaboration will also create opportunities for staff engagement, resource mobilization, and expanded support to vulnerable communities across the country.
The agreement was signed at the Uganda Red Cross Society headquarters in Kampala.
Speaking during the engagement, Robert Kwesiga, Secretary General of the Uganda Red Cross Society, emphasized the importance of partnerships with the private sector in strengthening humanitarian response and preparedness.
“Strategic partnerships such as this one with dfcu Group are vital in enabling us to reach more vulnerable communities with life-saving support. By working together, we can mobilize resources, strengthen preparedness and ensure that communities are better equipped to respond to emergencies and humanitarian challenges,” Kwesiga said.
Representing dfcu Group, Mabel Ndawula, Executive Director of the dfcu Foundation, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to initiatives that support community development and social impact.
“At dfcu Bank, our purpose is transforming lives and businesses in Uganda. Our partnership with the Uganda Red Cross Society reflects our commitment to supporting initiatives that create sustainable impact and strengthen communities across the country,” Ndawula said.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment by both institutions to contribute to national development while improving the lives of vulnerable communities across Uganda.
