KAMPALA, Uganda | Xinhua | The Uganda Cricket Association has confirmed that they will host a Quadrangular Cricket Test Series in April.
Denis Musali, the association’s head of communication, told Xinhua that they will host national cricket teams of the Netherlands, Nepal and Namibia for a mini tournament.
“This Quadrangular will help our team continue to prepare well ahead of the T20 World Cup to take place in the United States and West Indies. We believe playing against these three teams, who will also be at the World Cup, will help our team shape up well,” added Musali.
For the World Cup in June, Uganda is placed in Group C alongside Papua New Guinea, Afghanistan, New Zealand and West Indies.
The Netherlands and Nepal are placed in Group D alongside Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and South Africa, while Namibia is in Group B alongside Australia, England, Scotland and Oman.
Before the April tournament, Uganda will participate in the African Games to be hosted by Ghana next month. ■
