Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | The Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) National Management Committee, in its weekly meeting under the stewardship of His Eminence Sheikh Mohammad Ali Waiswa, the Deputy Mufti of Uganda, appointed Haj Ali Juma Ngobi as Secretary for Finance & Planning an economist and Kagiiko Imam Shaffi, a holder of a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, as Secretary for Social Services, pending the approval of the relevant Council organs.
These newly appointed officials replace Hon. Sinan Abdu Nsenye and Hon. Counsel Haj Muhammad Ali, respectively.
In his congratulatory remarks delivered on behalf of the Mufti, Sheikh Waiswa explained that the changes were aimed at injecting new ideals and systems into the management, as advised by a technical committee in line with the provisions of the UMSC Constitution.
“UMSC is a religious institution different from other organizations. We are here to serve Almighty Allah with dedication and devotion, and it is Him to reward,” he remarked. Sheikh Waiswa urged the new officials to advocate for professionalism that will further enrich the management with effective systems in service delivery.
