How Law Society Boss Ssemakadde Delayed Chief Justice Dollo’s Struggle To Resolve Lawyers, Judges Fights Before He Retires In January… – Ono Bwino

This mighty investigative website can exclusively report that before Chief Justice Owiny Dollo announced the nomination of Uganda Law Society president Isaac Ssemakadde to be a member of the Uganda Law Reform Commission; top judiciary bosses held a private meeting at the judiciary headquarters in the middle of Kampala city.

Among those who attended the meeting was a close confidant to counsel Ssemakadde and the reason why he was invited was to convince him to compromise his boss to accept the offer given to him by the Chief Justice. As a reward for his efforts, he was also promised to be given a juicy job once he succeeds in helping his supreme leader execute his national duties.

“It was a good deal on paper because, the proposal was that after Ssemakadde accepts the job, the judiciary was going to handle his cases including the pending two years prison sentence slapped on him by Justice Musa Ssekaana and the international arrest warrant issued against him by Buganda Road Chief Magistrates Court. But we were shocked when Ssemakadde declined to take the offer,” a source who attended the meeting said.

Sources said that because the henchman did not first consult his superior Ssemakadde when he was going to attend the meeting with top judiciary bosses, he was very scared of being photographed and his photos being circulated on social media and other media platforms which would make him look like a betrayer infront of his boss.

So, he decided to jump out of the meeting pretending that he was going for a short call and never came back.

He however sent a text message to them after 30 minutes that he was scared of the meeting that’s why he ran away.

Sources close to Ssemakadde who we consulted during the course of verifying this story told this website that Ssemakadde consulted a number of his confidants including city lawyers who overwhelmingly supported him to become the Uganda Law Society president and their opinions guided his decision to decline to take the offer and proposes to be given to his vice president Anthony Asiimwe.

Counsel Eron Kizza the aspiring Uganda Law Society president claims that before Ssemakadde ran into exile, there were ongoing negotiations to save him from being criminally prosecuted on charges related to the vulgar comments he made against judicial officers including Justice SSekaana and the newly appointed Principal Judge Justice Jane Frances Abodo

Sources said that the reason why Ssemakadde jumped out of the negotiations was because of Dollo who was insisting that he should issue an apology to justice Ssekaana which he declined to do.

“It will be the last resort for Ssemakadde to apologize to Ssekaana because it will not be the first time he will be apologising to him. When Mabirizi was imprisoned, Ssemakadde was the next to be imprisoned but through his people, he reached out to Ssekaana and apologised and he agreed never to attack him again but surprisingly he continued attacking him,” a source claimed.

Highly placed sources in judiciary told this website that even though justice Dollo is very bitter with Ssemakadde, he wanted to retire in January 2026 after solving the ongoing fights between the bar and the bench because he doesn’t want his good record as a celebrated lawyer and a judicial officer to be tainted.

Counsel Kizza insists its time to change the leadership style at Uganda Law Society from New Radical Bar to what he termed as an Unchained Uganda Law Society claiming that it seems the ongoing leadership is in support of the ongoing illegalities committed by top government officials and military commanders.

However, Ssemakadde supporters led by Male Mabirizi insisting that Kizza is being used by Dollo to overthrow Ssemakadde even before the expiration of his term of office because he wants to use him to resolve the fight between the judges and lawyers.

Justice and Constitutional affairs Minister Norbert Mao promised to lead the mediation between lawyers and judges so as Ssemakadde can secure his freedom and stop being a fugitive in the exile.
