URA have confirmed Alex Isabirye as the new club’s head coach, signing the tactician on a one-year employment contract.
“We are delighted to officially announce the appointment of Alex Isabirye Musongola as our new head coach,” the club confirmed on Monday.

It is also under his leadership that URA win the Uganda Cup in 2012, solidifying his reputation as a successful coach at URA in particular, and in Ugandan football at large.
The tactician most recently just guided Vipers to their first ever domestic double, winning both the league and the league cup with the venoms in the 2022/23 season, after also winning the Uganda Cup with BUL the in the 2021/22 season.
“We are optimistic that Isabirye’s return will revive our glory days, with his vast experience and previous success with the team being seen as key assets,” URA CEO Allan Munaaba stated.
Isabirye’s first task will be preparing the squad to face Kitara on Saturday, June 1, 2024 for the grand opening of the newly refurbished Nakivubo War memorial Stadium, where URA last won their league title as a home ground.
