BREAKING NEWS! M7 Appoints Justice Aisha Naluzze Batala as New IGG

KAMPALA – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appointed Hon. Justice Aisha Naluzze Batala as the new Inspector General of Government (IGG), replacing Hon. Beti Olive Namisango Kamya, in a major shake-up of the leadership of the country’s anti-corruption watchdog.

According to Presidential Deputy Press Secretary Hajji Faruk Kirunda, the President made the appointment in exercise of his constitutional powers.

Kamya’s deputies, Dr. Patricia Achan Okiria and Anne Twinomugisha Muhairwe, have been retained in their current positions.

Kirunda congratulated and confirmed that the names of the appointees have been forwarded to Parliament for vetting in line with constitutional requirements.

This appointment marks a significant moment for the Inspectorate of Government, which plays a key role in promoting transparency, accountability, and integrity within public institutions.
