City tycoon Sadat marries Donat Kananura’s daughter as SMS construction crumbles

City tycoon Sadat Muhinda is reportedly living large in the bedroom even as storm clouds gather over his SMS construction business empire.

RedPepper snoops have exclusively learnt that Sadat recently conducted a nikah ceremony, quietly taking yet another wife—pushing his alleged number of women to more than five. The ceremony was tightly guarded.

Under Islamic law, nikah is the formal marriage contract involving the groom, the bride’s acceptance, and the agreed dower (mahr), witnessed by elders.

Sources say the latest woman—whose full details we shall reveal in a subsequent publication—is a manager at a struggling Standard Chartered Bank and the daughter of city tycoon Donat Kananura.

Shockingly, snoops were told that the woman was previously married and reportedly came into the union with children from her earlier marriage. How she ended up with Sadat—and whether deep pockets played a role—is a story for another day.

Insiders allege that Sadat had already performed nikah ceremonies with several other women.

They include URA staffer Hellen and mother of four children. There is also another lady (names withheld) and said to drive a posh Range Rover. They also have kids together.

Another one is Shadia, formerly housed in Munyonyo, with whom he has children but have since separated. There is another woman from Kyotera, with whom he allegedly has a child and as well one Carol, reportedly a receptionist at Serena Hotel.

Sources close to the tycoon claim Sadat has a preference for women from wealthy families, believing they can independently care for children should relationships collapse.

Pals intimate that Sadat’s alleged children could number around 18, with most of their mothers no longer living with him.

As Sadat allegedly indulges in romance and reproduction, his construction firm SMS Construction is said to be on its knees financially.

The company is reportedly struggling to complete major government and private projects, including: IGG Towers, Government Analytical Laboratory (GAL), Cancer Institute project and Marriott Hotel, Nsambya.

Sources claim some of these contracts were controversially acquired from ROKO construction.

It should be noted that one his partners, Ashaba Ainea was a manager in Roko together with his wife.

They later parted with Roko and left it in dire financial situation, and went on to start SMS Construction together with Sadat and tycoon Ngabirano of Capital Shoppers.

Ironically, while Roko Construction is said to have now stabilized, SMS is allegedly gasping for breath.

RedPepper snoops have learnt that Ngabirano has reportedly sold some prime assets to keep the Nsambya Marriott project afloat. They include La Jolla Gardens, located in Bukoto–Kisaasi, Kampala and a large farm in Nakaseke.

Insiders further allege that the Stanbic Bank loan financing the Marriott project is nearing maturity—yet construction remains incomplete.

Sources whisper that Marriott International is considering pulling out of the project, similar to what happened with the Pearl of Africa Hotel, after repeated deadline breaches.
