Ham Stadium is set to be the centerpiece of the 2026 USSSA Kampala Region boys’ football qualifiers—popularly dubbed the “Champions League”—as the refurbished venue prepares to host the semifinals and final on 14th March 2026.
The tournament is set to be played between 9th and 14th March 2026.
It will be the first time the iconic venue hosts a schools competition since its renovation, adding a fresh layer of prestige to the regional showpiece.
Each participating school will pay a registration fee of UGX 450,000, with the tournament bringing together the top performers from the five divisions that make up Kampala Region. The format pits the best three teams from each division in group and knockout stages across five venues, including Uganda Martyrs High School, Lubiri Secondary School, Kibuli Secondary School, and Ham Stadium Nakivubo. Entry to Ham Stadium on match days will cost fans UGX 3,000, allowing access for the entire day’s fixtures.
The five divisions will collectively contribute 15 teams to the competition. Kawempe Division has already confirmed its representatives—Kawempe Muslim Secondary School, Kazo Hill College, and Caltec Academy—while Makindye Division will be represented by Kibuli Secondary School (division champions), Kakungulu Memorial, and Buziga Islamic. Nakawa Division’s qualifiers are Kyambogo College School (champions), Bishop Cyprian Kihangire, and Luzira Secondary School.
From the Central Division, Kololo Secondary School (champions), Kololo High School, and City High School have secured their places. Meanwhile, Lubaga Division is still completing its qualifiers, with its final three representatives to be confirmed in the coming days.
The Kampala Region championship will serve as a gateway to the national stage, with four teams set to advance to the National Football Championship in Lira City in May 2026.
With Ham Stadium leading the line-up of venues and hosting the decisive stages, the tournament promises top-level school football action, a renewed atmosphere for fans, and a grand stage for Kampala’s best young footballers.
