Kira, Wakiso — Former SC Villa player and current director of Jodana Sports Management, Daniel Kisseka Ntale, has launched an initiative that uses sports as a platform for evangelism and youth mentorship.

Fresh from his return from the United States, Ntale visited Buwate Soccer Academy in Kira Municipality, Wakiso District, where he shared his personal testimony and message of salvation with young athletes. His outreach left an immediate impact, with 19 boys and girls committing their lives to Jesus Christ.

In addition to the spiritual message, Ntale donated footballs and volleyballs to the academy. The equipment was provided through the support of Kansas City Sporting FC, a Major League Soccer Club in the USA and Michael Morris of Balls of Many Colours. He pledged to return with more resources aimed at nurturing both the sporting talents and the spiritual growth of the youth.

“This programme will run in different parts of the country. Together with my team, we shall visit schools and academies at least twice a month,” Ntale said.

He also expressed gratitude to the donors in the USA who made the shipment of equipment possible. Among those recognized were Kansas City Sporting MLS Club, Michael Morris, Sendi Ian — a Ugandan professional footballer with Minneapolis FC — and other supporters who contributed generously.

Through this initiative, Ntale believes that sports can play a dual role in Uganda — developing skills and building strong Christian values among the next generation.
